Thoughts about one’s fiance when engaged

There are a few principles that are important:

(1) An engagement is not a formal relationship, according to the Qur’an and Sunna, and doesn’t allow a great degree of relationship or interaction with the person whom one is engaged
with. Rather, they are still legally considered a stranger. Thus, the
propriety and restraint that Qur”an and Sunna call believers to have with those of the opposite sex still apply.

(2) Caution is required when one is engaged, because of the likelihood of strong emotions towards one’s fiance(e) and the consequent risk of improper conduct. [read more]
