What is proposed today as Traditional Islam?
SunniPath Answers (http://qa.sunnipath.com)The way of Sunni Islam is clear. Anything that is agreed upon to be
haram by living scholars from all four schools is rejected, without
doubt. Anything else is not absolutely condemnable. However, one should consult with scholars of piety and wisdom and
leave to them the task of determining the right course of conduct in
dealing with the religious errors of others. Otherwise, all we’ll have
is fitna and discord…. [more]

I was under the impression that Sunni Islam means following the Sunnah of Nabi (s) and the Jamaat of Sahaba (r). Please clarify.
Given that:
a) Islam has been around for over 1400 years and the early Ulema did a fantastic job of codifying the religion and thereby determining what Allah is requiring of us in this transitory life.
and
b) It is a certainty that with each successive generation the level of taqwa has decreased, both amongst the Ulema and the leity.
Why not simply stick to what the early Ulema said or had concensus on?
From what you have posted in the above article, if the current Ulema disagree about something, even though historically (more mutaqqi) ulema have not, then there is flexibility as to what the shariah (and thereby Allah) is requiring from a person

I have searched the www for answers to a sunni muslim wearing a beard.
1. Is it compulsory to wear a beard if you want to be a Haji ?
2. Please explain the significance of a beard ?
The reason I am enquiring is that I have a really ugly beard, it also makes me look filthy, my character is very clean and paak at all times. I will hold myself if I do not find clean toilets, I hope this explains my cleanliness.
Please forward answers soon.
Jazakallah
